“Memorials of the Faithful”: A Centenary Appreciation

The annual sessions of the ‘Irfán Colloquium in 2015 will be held in English and Persian at Bosch Bahá'í School in Santa Cruz, California, May 22 to 25. This year’s sessions coincide with the centenary of `Abdu’l-Bahá’s Memorials of the Faithful, a unique work among religious texts, and are dedicated to its appreciation.

‘Irfán Colloquium aims at promoting deeper and systematic studies in the scriptures of the world's religions from the Bahá'í perspective, as well as verities, fundamental principles of the belief system and the sacred writings of the Bahá'í Faith, the interface between the Bahá’í Faith and various religious traditions and schools of thought. Bazm-i-‘Irfán includes musical performances. Participating at the ‘Irfán Colloquium enjoy a collegial gathering providing an opportunity for dialogue, networking and team-building among those engaged in Bahá’í studies. It is also a unique occasion for all those participating in this gathering to meet and associate with researchers and scholars and benefit from their presentations. Those attending at the ‘Irfán Colloquium receive a gift set of the ‘Irfán publications.

Topics of Presentations in 2015: Memorials of the Faithful: Its Place in Persian Language and Literature; A study of personality characters portrayed in Memorials of the Faithful; A multi-dimensional review of Memorials of the Faithful; Meaning, Essence, and Latency in the Writings of Bahá’u’lláh and ‘Abdu’l-Bahá; A study of the tradition of "He Who knows himself shall know his God" in Bahá’í Writings; Bahá’u’lláh and the Luminous Mind: An Interreligious Exercise in Non-Dual Thinking; The Language of the Hear; Nietzsche and the Bahá’í Writings; The Islamic Basmala and its Re-creation by the Bab and Baha’u’llah; An Introductory Exploration of the Universal Feminine and Masculine; ‘Abdu’l-Bahá’s Tablet of Universe (Aflakiyyih); A Provisional Translation of the Persian Tablet of Ahmad; Ibn-i-Fáriḍ's Poetry in the Bahá’í Writings; Scientific Investigation of the Spiritual Man, and other topics.
